Lawmakers And Advocates Convene Emergency Transgender Rights Roundtable On Capitol Hill

With trans rights under assault across the country, NMAC – one of the nation's leading LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations – will lead an emergency roundtable on Capitol Hill with members of Congress and nationally-known policy experts to demand urgent action to protect trans-Americans.

WASHINGTON - July 18, 2023 - PRLog -- Historic roundtable about the unprecedented legislative attacks on the transgender community, including the 220 bills targeting trans-Americans introduced in states like Florida, Texas, and Alabama. The session will consist of a panel of medical professionals, policy experts, and trans rights advocates – including NMAC's Toni Newman, a Black trans woman, author, and coalition leader – and will be hosted by Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus Chair Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus Chair Barbara Lee (D-CA), Congressional Equality Caucus Chair Mark Pocan (D-WI), and Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal (D-WA).
