A&J Fire Extinguisher, a leading Brooklyn, NYC fire extinguisher inspection and supplier company providing products and services for all of NYC’s fire protection needs, recently applauded the FDNY Foundation for hosting the annual FDNY All-Star Event, an extravaganza that brought notables from the worlds of sports, television and the arts together with longtime friends of the FDNY – and business leaders – to support the Department and mark the 17th anniversary of September 11.
The event took place on September 13 and was hosted by Bruce Beck, the lead sports anchor at WNBC-TV and host of Sports Final, NBC 4’s popular Sunday night sports show.
FDNY Foundation Chairman Steve Ruzow reflected on the important reasons everyone gathers at this yearly event by stating, “We will never forget the brave 343 members of the FDNY that we lost on 9/11 some 17 years ago, the over 180 FDNY members who have died since due to WTC illness and the many FDNY members who continue to battle illness to this day.”
Among the celebrities who turned out to honor the anniversary and members of the FDNY – and to support the FDNY Foundation – were Carol Alt, Tina Cervasio, Jeff Curtin, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Famke Jannsen, Sukanya Krishnan, Rod Strickland and Charles Way.
“The All-Star Event is one of the highlights of the year for the FDNY Foundation,” adds Jack Shammah, owner of A&J Fire Extinguisher. “Support from the Foundation allows the Department to fund awareness and outreach programs, fire and life safety education and FDNY member training, new technology and equipment.
“A&J will always applaud and recognize the efforts of such warmhearted endeavors.”
